Slimline Renee Zellweger wows at French premiere
November 5, 2004
Renee Zellweger wowed the crowd at the French premiere of 'Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason' yesterday (04.11.04) - looking every inch the super-slim star.
The now-brunette beauty posed for photos in a striking red dress at the Paris event - while her co-star, a disheveled-looking Hugh Grant, shied away from the cameras.
The actor, who plays heartbreaker Daniel Cleaver in the romantic comedy, chose instead to stay close to his real-life lover Jemima Khan.
After Hugh, 44, had signed hundreds of autographs at the glitzy ceremony, the smitten pair went sightseeing in Paris.
An insider said: "Hugh and Jemima went shopping on the Champs Elysée but Hugh didn't want to be photographed with Jemima and kept jumping out the way."
Meanwhile, Renee - who has recently split from White Stripes rocker Jack White - admitted to fans she is coming to terms with her heartbreak by keeping busy.
She revealed: "I make sure I'm always doing something and I just get on with things.
I see friends and chill out and I'm taking a long holiday in the New Year."
Renee Zellweger terrified of 'Bridget Jones'
November 3, 2004
Renee Zellweger says she was terrified of playing 'Bridget Jones' in case she let down fans of the original story.
The sexy star, who has played the hapless singleton once before, claims she worried about the reaction of Bridget's legion of fans when taking on the big screen role.
She said: "I didn't want to do something that would disappoint people and compromise her. People would come up to me in the street and say things like, 'I am Bridget and I love Bridget Jones', meaning 'You'd better not screw this up for us.'"
