Movie hunk Colin Firth will only do a third Bridget Jones movie if author Helen Fielding can come up with a drastically different storyline.

Firth, who stars as Renee Zellweger's love interest in the films, is convinced that Bridget Jones 3 could only be a box office smash if it contained radically new ideas and characterisations.

The 45-year-old actor says, "I wouldn't want to do a third Bridget Jones film that just went over the same ground.

"However if it was about a sad, unhealthy bloated Darcy (Firth's role), and Cleaver (Hugh Grant's character) as a pathetic ageing Don Juan with a fake tan and Bridget being even more neurotic, it might be good."

"The main two are that she's financially secure and law-abiding."

Renée and Kenny shocked fans when they announced they had wed on May 9 in a sunset ceremony in the Virgin Islands.

But just four months later their marriage was annulled, with the 'Bridget Jones' star citing 'fraud' as the reason for their split.

Yesterday, the purdy Texan paid a surprise visit to the offices of the New York Post, phoning the editors of Page Six and asking them to meet her in the lobby. The editors thought it was a prank, but agreed, hoping for some amusement when they came face-to-face with "Renée." But when they got to the lobby, a very casually dressed Renée was standing there -- and she wasn't happy.

"I just wanted to tell you that story was hurtful about me being with another man," she told them. "It wasn't true, and it made me look slutty." The actress, who filed for an annulment of her marriage to Kenny Chesney last month, was referring to their story on Monday that she was planning a trip to Ireland to see "her new beau, Irish singer Damien Rice." Renée told them that she and Damien are merely old friends. And, for the record, she isn't dating the guy that she went to the Red Sox game with either.
