A lot has happened since Kenny Chesney was in Birmingham last year.

From new wife to acclaim from country groups, his star has risen even higher

He won both the Academy of Country Music's and the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year awards. He postponed his 2005 tour after an ankle injury knocked him off his feet. Oh, and he met a girl named Renee and married her.

That would be Oscar-winner Renee Zellweger, whom the country superstar met in January and married in May.

Fresh off his honeymoon (in Vegas, no less), Chesney is back on the road, and his "Somewhere in the Sun" tour with Gretchen Wilson and Pat Green lands at the BJCC tonight.

On the off chance that the Mrs. Chesney (Zellweger-Chesney?) is joining her hubby in town, we offer these Chesney nuggets. Hey, she barely knows the man - she might as well learn about him while we do.
 

Few ask for refunds for 'Cinderella Man'

A handful of viewers asked for a refund after catching "Cinderella Man," but most moviegoers went away satisfied, according to a theater chain that offered a money-back guarantee.

Cinemark spokeswoman Terrell Falk said she did not have exact numbers Wednesday but that only a couple dozen people wanted their money back in the 26 markets the chain offered the refunds over the long Fourth of July weekend.

The deal followed a similar refund program AMC Entertainment offered at theaters nationwide. AMC and Cinemark were seeking to spotlight director Ron Howard's boxing drama that stars Russell Crowe and Renée Zellweger, a film that has proven an underachiever with just $54 million at the box office.

"It's in competition with films with lots of special effects and big action this summer. This is a quiet film," Falk said. "The whole effort was to focus attention on what is a beautiful film that deserves an audience but just hasn't gotten one."
