E!'s habit in recent years of bashing and embarrassing the stars has led to a
boycott by several big names, including Will Smith, George Clooney, Renee
Zellweger, Kelly Ripa, Kelsey Grammer and Halle Berry. As a result, the channel
has been banned from the red carpet of several movie premieres over the last
year, including "Gothika" and "Cold Mountain."

Odd thing: Another Joplin movie is in the works, this one starring Renee
Zellweger. As you know, she's a serious Method actor, putting on all those
pounds for "Bridget Jones' Diary," yada, yada, yada.
No word on whether or not she plans to consume two bottles of Jack Daniels and a
couple of hits of acid every day for her role as the Queen of Pain.
Zellweger shows she's just like anybody else

Renee Zellweger, 35, is apparently still fuming over reports in the Toronto
press that she wasn't nice to fans who spotted her with her Detroit boyfriend,
White Stripes rocker Jack White, 28. Now Us magazine reports that while at a
Starbucks in downtown Toronto on May 14 -- she's there filming "The Cinderella
Man" opposite Russell Crowe, 40 -- she blasted paparazzi who were trying to take
her photo. "I am a normal person!" she yelled while waving a script. "See, I
photocopy my own script! I do my own thing. I am not a Hollywood snob." Then to
prove it, she signed autographs for onlookers.

RUSSELL CROWE has the perfect leading lady to help him get to fighting weight
for his role as a boxer in his new film The Cinderella Man.
RENEE ZELLWEGER ballooned up and down the scales for two Bridget Jones movies
and she offered some of her tried and tested diet tips to shave 10lbs off
Crowe’s beer belly.
Crowe, 40, and director RON HOWARD were furious when an extra snapped photos of
the new lean, mean actor on set in Toronto, Canada, last weekend.
The man was fired before Crowe’s wife and baby arrive for a visit later this
week.

Pink, Zellweger to bring Joplin to life in films
Pink movie to present Janis as a 'hero'.
May 1, 2004
Director Penelope Spheeris says her new Janis Joplin biopic, coming early in 2005 and starring Pink, will present the legendary singer "as a hero ... She was a woman breaking the rules when women didn't."
Producer Peter Newman goes farther, telling Rolling Stone that Joplin "lived her life on a tight- rope, but she was anything but a train wreck."
Right. That's why she died of an overdose at age 27, back in 1970. That pretty much proves she was completely in control at all times.
Hey, don't get me wrong. I was a fan, and still am, but let's not kid ourselves. There was a lot of energy in the 1960s, but too many good ones died of drugs. But I digress.
This movie has beaten out the other pending JJ movie, starring Renee Zellweger, for rights to a lot of Joplin's great songs, including the immortal Piece of My Heart and Me and Bobby McGee. Pink will do all her own singing.
