 Crowe stars in the story inspired by the life of legendary athlete Jim Braddock, a once-promising light heavyweight boxer forced into retirement after a string of losses in the ring. As the nation enters the darkest years of the Great Depression, Braddock accepts a string of dead-end jobs to support his wife, Mae (Renée Zellweger), and their children, while never totally abandoning his dream of boxing again. Thanks to a last minute cancellation, Braddock finds himself back in the ring against the second-ranked world contender--and to everyone's amazement, Braddock wins in the third round. Despite being pounds lighter than his opponents and repeated injuries to his hands, Braddock continues to fight against challengers and win. Carrying on his shoulders the hopes and dreams of the disenfranchised masses, Braddock, dubbed the "Cinderella Man," faces his toughest challenger in Max Baer (Craig Bierko), the heavyweight champion of the world, renowned for having killed two men in the ring.

Frankly, most people would take some time out to find themselves and rest a bit if they had the cash. And that's something that Hollywood star Renee Zellweger certainly has after a string of filmic successes. But now the 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress is in need of a break.

"I'd like to take a year off from filming. I would like to not go into a make-up trailer for a year," Female First reports her as saying.

It seems that constant filming over the last few years has finally taken its toll on her and putting on the weight and then losing it again twice for the Bridget Jones films wasn't exactly a piece of cake.

"I don't think I'd have so much to give to a project that I was participating in right now because I'm in such need of a break," she admitted.

"I want some time to consider my options. I want to figure out who I am as a grown-up woman.

"I need to refuel. I need to live a bit as just a girl and not as somebody else."

The Cold Mountain star is currently dating Irish singer Damien Rice - after splitting up with Jack White of The White Stripes at the end of 2004.

The BRIDGET JONES' DIARY star, who is dating sensitive Irish singer DAMIAN RICE, is terrified of meeting the ex-BEATLE in case he is aware of her feelings.

The 35-year-old says, "I haven't told Paul yet, but some friends might have outed me. The horror."

London: Fans prefer the Bridget Jones's Diary star, Renee Zellweger in her blonde look, reveals a poll by Hello magazine.

The actress switched from flaxen-haired to brunette - and most recently turned a redhead - but a new hellomagazine.com poll said that blonde looks the best on Renee.

Over 72 per cent of those who voted think Renee should stick to her blonde look which made her famous. While 15 per cent like her flame-haired red look, 12 per cent voters say yes to brunette.

Renee's makeover is not creating the rage she would be wanting it to, as some other A-list divas who have shown their darker sides recently.

It was actress Reese Witherspoon who was voted for the best blonde-brunette switch in Hello magazine's 2004 End Of The Year Poll.(ANI)

When it comes to her hair, Renee Zellweger is v v versatile.

Miss Zellweger, who recently announced she was taking a break from show business to "discover the real me", unveiled her latest look at an awards ceremony in New York.                                                

"She looked stunning with her new hairstyle," said one partygoer. "Everyone was talking about how her red hair looked so much better than when she was a brunette. It really seems to suit her skin tone.                      

"But if she is trying to be anonymous it really will not work. That hair color really turns heads."

Changing color

The actress, who earns £7million a movie, dyed her naturally blonde hair dark brown in July after wearing a dark wig for the film Cinderella Man because she enjoyed the fact that nobody seemed to recognize her as a brunette.

"My friends pass me by," she said. "No one bothers me when I am buying a coffee. Women are kinder to me and men look at me less."

During her time off, Miss Zellweger, 36 next month, may be hoping to concentrate on her love life.

She split from rocker boyfriend Jack White in September and is now close to Irish singer Damien Rice although, for the moment, they are both claiming to be just good friends
