George Clooney Consults Former Love Renee Zellweger for Advice on his Weight
slashfilm.com
January 30, 2006
Hollywood hunk GEORGE CLOONEY credits his former love RENEE ZELLWEGER with
helping him gain enough weight to get into character for new movie SYRIANA.
The 44-year-old struggled to pile on the required 15.5 kilograms (34 pounds) for
his role as middle-aged CIA agent BOB BARNES, and was forced to ask Zellweger,
who ballooned to play a plump singleton in BRIDGET JONES' DIARY, for help.
He says, "In the beginning it was fun not being able to get tables at
restaurants, but being overweight is horrible for the blood pressure and my back
is killing me.
"But you couldn't read this script and not want to be in it."
Clooney and Zellweger were romantically linked in 2001.
Unconventional Wisdom | The kiss can be telling
contracostatimes.com
January 28, 2006
Kissing. It's very much au courant these days, what with Valentine's Day
nearing, a big article on kissing jammed into February's Glamour, and, most
significant, the arrival of the book Kissing: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know
About One of Life's Sweetest Pleasures by Andréa Demirjian (Perigree).
Now, it's true that we men rarely discuss the subject. ("Yo, Vinnie, I gotta
say, her kissing was as artful as it was libidinous. Plus, she smokes Camels and
drives a Camaro. Nice.")
Women, however, dissect The Kiss endlessly, like eager medical students with a
cadaver:
"Did he touch your face?" "Did he pull you close?" "Was he tongue-happy and
crude, or slow and gentle?"
According to Demirjian, the average woman will kiss 79 guys before she marries.
Presumably, the numbers plummet after that.
Think of it, fellas. That's a lot of practice. Can you compete?
If you're a guy and you want to know how to kiss a woman, watch how Tom Cruise
does it with Renée Zellweger in the movie Jerry Maguire. This is, Demirjian
says, one of women's all-time-favorite screen kisses, along with the lip locks
in Gone With the Wind and Casablanca.
Trust me, boys, that Maguire kiss - along with Renée's untoppably romantic line,
"You had me at 'Hello' " - are the stuff of women's fevered dreams.

lead role in Miss Potter, a film about the life of the famous English author of
the Peter Rabbit books.

Sawrey, and other locations.
Zellweger's naked scare at Golden Globes party

Organizers of movie moguls Harvey and Bob Weinstein's post-Golden Globe Awards party dashed to save guest Renee Zellweger's blushes on Monday night after socialite Nicky Hilton almost left the actress naked.
The Cold Mountain star was nude under her designer gown at the party and told revelers she was worried about being left "inappropriately naked" if someone stepped on the dress.
Minutes later, Hilton did just that, leaving nervous Zellweger clutching at her clothes and party planners rushing to keep the actress covered up.
Kenny & Renée do lunch in Nashville
countryweekly.com
January 12, 2006
Kenny Chesney and Renée Zellweger were spotted having lunch together at a
sandwich shop in Franklin, Tenn., near Nashville. But it's nothing more than two
friends hanging out, according to Kenny's publicist.
This past Friday, Jan. 6, Kenny and Renée walked into Steamers Sub Shop around
1:00 and had lunch together, a story first reported by (Nashville) Tennessean
columnist Brad Schmitt. Country Weekly has since found out more about the
couple's afternoon on the town.
Kenny, sporting jeans and a tight-fitting cap, ordered a turkey and tomatoes
sub, while Renée placed a somewhat odd request: a Philadelphia cheesesteak
without the cheese, reports one of the store's managers, Bill Beyer. "They were
both very nice, very cool," says Beyer. "They sat and ate with everyone else in
the place. She was a little more open than he was. He tried to hide a little bit
behind his cap, but he was friendly to us. They acted like people who were good
friends."
And guess who picked up the tab! Apparently, each insisted on paying for the
sandwiches and iced teas. But it was Kenny who finally took care of the bill,
paying in cash.
Kenny and Renée recently had their four-month marriage annulled, but they are
apparently still on good terms. "They're friends," says Kenny's publicist Holly
Gleason.

Britney Spears tops "Worst Dressed" list
digitalspy.co.uk
January 12, 2006
Britney
Spears has topped a "worst dressed" list that says that the star looks like an
"over-the-hill Lolita."
Veteran fashion critic Mr. Blackwell's 46th annual "worst dressed" list calls
the star a "tacky terror" and comments that she has gone from "Princess of Pop
to Fashion Flop."
Other notable names to feature on the infamous list include: Mary-Kate Olsen who
apparently wears "bag lady rags," Jessica Simpson (a "cut-rate Rapunzel -
slingin' hash in a Vegas diner") and Renee Zellweger, who the acid-tongued
critic calls "a painted pumpkin on a pogo stick."
Blackwell finished as harshly as he began: "2005 turned out to be a particularly
bad year for couture chaos, wardrobe wrecks and stylistic sleaze," he said.
"These women may be fabulously talented in their respective fields, but when it
comes to fashion, they resemble weary weeds in a lovely garden."
Feedback from the webmaster:
[Mr. Blackwell is a former fashion designer who writes a column for a supermarket tabloid.
Blackwell acknowledged that many of his "winners" were fabulously talented. "but when it comes to choosing a wardrobe," he said, "they seem to have entered the land of bad taste -- no exit in sight."
But Blackwell isn't all about barbs. Countering his "worst-dressed" lineup is his list of "fabulous fashion independents." (Summer 2000 - cnn.com)]
A painted pumpkin on a pogo stick?
January 12, 2006 - by
Philippe Delmar
As webmaster of this site for several years now, I have never read such a irreverent comment from an "alleged" professional.
I acknowledge Mr. Blackwell's critical analysis of the way some celebrities dress, but his characterization of Renée Zellweger is nothing less than a personal attack. His comments have little to do with the clothes worn by the Oscar Winning Actress. They more likely represent his short-sighted perception of her physical appearance.
May I offer you a mirror, Mr. Blackwell?
